Pricing & Licensing

YAAA.app uses simple seat-based pricing for local-first automation, scripting, applet building, PDF workflows, marketplace distribution, and production support. YAAA.app does not bundle or resell AI models: users connect their own API keys, local models, or OAuth-based provider accounts where a plan includes provider integration.

Pricing principles

  • Bring your own AI model: no OpenAI, Anthropic, local LLM, or third-party inference usage is included in any plan. Provider fees are paid directly by the customer to their chosen provider.
  • Seat pricing is clear: Free is limited, Pro is for individual commercial work, Team/Studio is for shared production workflows, and Enterprise is for governed deployments.
  • Automation languages have equal capability: Lua, Python, and JavaScript automation routes are licensed by plan, not by reduced capability. When enabled, each language can run the same class of automation, including GUI scripting through approved YAAA.app scripting bridges.
  • AI Gateway is high-end only: centralized AI provider routing, policy, audit, and team/enterprise model configuration are available only on Team/Studio and Enterprise plans.

Marketplace and developer publishing

Roadmap: paid marketplace purchasing, paid publishing/payouts, and the platform fee are planned, not yet available. Today the marketplace supports discovering and installing free/community applets and widgets, and the licensing backend issues and verifies per-app license entitlements. The paid-item bullets below describe the intended model for those tiers once in-app checkout ships; they are not purchasable in-app yet.

  • Free developer account: can install free items within limits, and create up to 5 personal applets and 3 custom widgets. Roadmap: publishing limited free/community items after review.
  • Pro: install free items for individual use. Roadmap: purchasing/installing paid items and verified commercial paid publishing.
  • Team/Studio: per-app license entitlement management. Roadmap: verified commercial publishing, private/internal distribution, and paid marketplace items.
  • Enterprise: organization-scoped entitlement governance. Roadmap: private marketplace, organization-only approvals, and negotiated marketplace terms.
  • Marketplace fee (roadmap): when paid public marketplace sales ship, they are planned to use a 20% platform fee unless a different written agreement applies.

Security, licensing, and support

  • Free: community support and standard online activation where required.
  • Pro: named-user commercial license, standard activation, and licensing support.
  • Team/Studio: team license administration, role-based permissions, basic audit log, and priority support.
  • Enterprise: offline/on-prem activation, security review, compliance documentation support, SLA, admin policy, and custom procurement terms.

Clear exclusions

  • No bundled AI models or credits: customers bring and pay for their own API keys, OAuth model accounts, local inference servers, or private model endpoints.
  • No unlimited third-party usage: marketplace purchases, model-provider costs, storage, external APIs, and third-party services are billed separately by their providers or publishers.
  • No commercial rights on Free: Free is for evaluation, learning, and small personal prototypes, not production commercial deployment.
  • No AI Gateway below Team/Studio: Free and Pro do not include centralized model routing, policy, audit, or provider configuration.
  • No Enterprise-only controls in lower tiers: SSO, offline activation, custom compliance packages, custom legal terms, source escrow, and SLA support require an Enterprise agreement.
  • No guarantee that every marketplace item is included: paid widgets, applets, templates, and plugins may require separate purchase and may have their own publisher terms.

License portal and activation flow

The client portal is designed for account sign-in, license review, and device activation without exposing raw license secrets in browser code. License keys are checked server-side, stored as keyed hashes, and tied to device fingerprints so teams can deactivate retired machines.

  1. Register or sign in: portal forms use CSRF tokens, secure session cookies, generic errors, and rate-limit-friendly behavior.
  2. Activate a device: users submit a license key and local device fingerprint; the server validates format, expiration, and device limits.
  3. Review devices: the dashboard shows active devices and lets the account owner deactivate devices that should no longer consume a seat.
  4. App verification: the desktop app can call the JSON license endpoint over HTTPS; no production pepper or database credentials are shipped to clients.
